Polyxeni Aklidi is a certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher and a freelance actress based in Athens, Greece. Her interest for meditation and yoga was triggered by her studies in theatre where she sensed the innate wisdom of the body. During the last twelve years, while working on stage, she has kept an intensive yoga practice. In and all she finds the two complementary in an intriguing way. She has studied extensively within various and diverse yoga traditions. She has completed a few yoga teacher training programs and has collaborated with Swaha Yoga Centre as a facilitator and teacher in their 200hr Swaha Teacher Training Courses in Crete, Greece.
Polyxeni has studied Architecture at Manchester University and Acting in the Drama School of the National Theatre of Northern Greece and holds a Masters Degree on Devised Theatre from Dartington College of Arts with the support of the Greek National Scholarship Institute.
Her love for yoga and performance led her to travel around the world, from Brazil to India, to the States, England and Costa Rica she has had the opportunity to connect with great teachers as well as share her knowledge and inspiration along the way. She is ever so grateful to have spent time with Prem Baba in India, Rishikesh, Tyohar in Pachamama Costa Rica and with simple people who know the ways of nature in the forests of Central Brazil.
She cherishes having the opportunity to share her yoga practice, combining asana, meditation, chanting, yogic philosophy, poetry and literature in order to inspire people to live with more awareness and love for themselves and other sentient beings.
She teaches Jivamukti Yoga in various studios & venues around Athens. At present you can practice with her weekly at HotAshram in the heart of town.

Polyxeni is an authentic and beautiful being who embodies many of the qualities of yoga such as compassion, connection and awareness. She takes the responsibility and honour of teaching seriously and she is a beautiful channel from which to learn the practice and essence of yoga.
Engaging with Polyxeni Aklidi is a compelling and nurturing experience. Whatever the relationship, be it friendship or a teacher-student dynamic, she is constantly inviting and motivating you to grow. Studying under her tutelage gave me profound teachings on joy, compassion, creativity, and truely deepened my personal practice. If you have a chance, don’t hestitate to dance with this one.
I am so grateful to have had Polyxeni as one of my instructors for my 200 hour YTT. Her yoga is fierce and her teaching is profound. Polyxeni is thorough in the teaching of anatomy, alignment, and asana. She is positive and caring, while maintaining a high level of challenge and encouragement for growth. The activities that Polyxeni wove into the TTC with art, dance, chanting music, and philosophy were unique to any other teachers I’ve worked with, guiding us fearlessly into reflection and weaving eight limb epiphanies.
